This is an ancestral home (Tharavadu) where, around 500 years ago, a celibate elder named Kokkoorayachhan—who was the guru of 18 Kalaris and was bestowed the title 'Achan' by the Chirakkal King—resided in the Kulathumala region of Anjarakkandi on the instructions of the Chirakkal King to teach children martial arts and education. It features a Kalari with a Poothara and an elevated position dedicated to Sasthappan, which is rare in Kerala. In this ancestral home where Theyyam performances had stopped 80 years ago, reconsecration was performed a few years ago, and they started performing Theyyam again. The Theyyam takes place on the 20th day of the Malayalam month of Dhanu.
